These trailors are a comfortable and cost effective option for the Napa Valley area for those who do not have the budget to spend $200 plus/night. Nothing fancy, just bare bones, but the good points include being able to cook and eat at home, an outdoor deck for hanging out, good walking /runing trail by the river out your back door, and extremely quiet at night.
The ease of being in self catering facility rather than a hotel
Nice room, very well equipt, 10 meters from the river, on the river trail. Excellent maintenence. Close to wal-mart and to a supermarket. Had everything we could want and all the equipment was new or like new. Free laundery.
No breakfast but you have a kitchen in the room and a supermarket close by.
This place was a great value! You get your own little single-wide trailer (no sharing walls), with a full kitchen (small but with everything - stove, sink with disposal, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, utensils / pots / pans), living area, bathroom, and bedroom. Very clean and nice, fresh, modern decor. There is also a nice walking path along the river. Didn't check out the pool and hot tub, but they're there! Will definitely be back.
Even though this is essentially a "trailer park", RiverPointe does a very nice job making the cottages look nice. After staying in a very small downtown San Francisco hotel, it was nice to have a little extra room. We did a picnic at one of the wineries and it was nice to be able to grab wine glasses, wine opener, knives, silverware, plates, and a blanket from our cottage to use on our picnic. If we had wanted to cook anything, the kitchen was fully outfitted. It's pretty close to Oxbow market to pick up all our picnic food, too. The cottages are very private. I don't remember hearing anyone else outside our room the whole time we were there. It seems like all the hotels in Napa are either really cheap and trashy or really, really expensive ($400+/night). This was a perfect middle ground.
Because the cottages are really just trailers, be careful with the hot water. After I took a quick shower, there was no hot water left for my boyfriend--the same thing happened two days in a row. The tv in the bedroom was a little outdated. Also, there is only room cleaning two times/week (unless you request and pay for more than that). I was only there for two nights, so it didn't matter to me.
We liked the privacy with room to relax and spread out. We liked the bedroom separate from the sitting area and the ability to get up and fix a leisurely breakfast before setting out for the day. We liked having a TV and DVD player. The grounds are very nice and we took a walk along the river. It was perfect for us.
It was a very nice place to stay and I would choose the same destination for the next time. The restaurants and places to have a nice breakfast were close by and the region itself is very beautiful.
I was not informed of the $8.00 per day resort fee?
There was a hidden resort fee of $8 per night plus city taxes on the resort fee that we were not told about. The letter they gave us to say what the fee was for was bogus. All of the amenities listed are advertised as part of the resort package we book and they weren't all that impressive. The only thing it supposedly covered was wireless internet which sucked.
Surprisingly spacious and luxurious, for what is in essence a mobile home. We booked expecting very basic accommodation and instead were pleasantly surprised by the modernity, cleanliness, facilities. and the quality of the products provided. My daughter took advantage of the gym, there were also 2 spa's and a pool, all immaculately kept. The staff were helpful and informative. We were given just the right amount of attention without it being intrusive. Whatever we asked for was provided. Can't recommend this highly enough; would definitely stay there again.
Can't fault the resort.
Great little homey trailer with patio and BBQ in pretty grounds. Casual but fun and comfortable. It's Napa--what's not to like?
We liked how picturesque the place was. The size of room was perfect & a well stock kitchen made it even better. We are planning to go back!:)
